The first undersea cable to bring high-speed internet access to East Africa has now gone live. The fibre-optic cable connects South Africa and East Africa to Europe and Asia and is 10,500 miles long! After two years of work on the sea-bed to get it laid, the connection will now bring schools and businesses in the region up to the internet speeds that we enjoy.
