
The shores of Lake Kivu have seen a lot of activity recently by the government. That’s because the tiny country of Rwanda needs electricity to its population power. Rotting mud and volcanic activity on the lake’s bed has produced lots of methane - a perfect gas to burn and produce power. So, a major project is underway to make the most of this resource and turn it into electricity.
